The purpose of the MJL Elite Teams is to promote Hawaii soccer and its players beyond the Hawaii and US frontiers, by showcasing the players to some international youth programs, professional academies, coaches and scouts.
While doing this, also allowing the participating players an experience of a lifetime, as they'll get to see firsthand how other countries embrace and integrate the sport into their cultures, as well as seeing first hand how some of the professional teams train and run their facilities.
Currently the program offers U12 Boys & Girls players a chance to travel to Japan and complete against some J-League academy teams as well as some of the top youth clubs.
The program will be expanding to include U14 teams to travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, and face academies such as Chivas, Atlas, Leones Negros and others. The dates for this age group would take place during Spring Break.
Plans are also in the works for U16 teams to travel Uruguay (a first for any Hawaiian team) to train and compete with some of the top professional youth academies such as Nacional (Luis Suarez) and Penarol (Diego Forlan) Danubio (Cavani), as well as sessions with some National Team coaches.
We're also looking into Europe or other international destinations that would offer high level competition and showcase our players to international scouts and Clubs.
The ages requirements are based on the birth year of the players (International standard)

The MJL Elite Program will be holding tryouts for '08 born Boys and Girls to travel to Japan in July of 2020.  The first stage of the MJL Elite tryouts for the 2019 12UB & 12UG Teams will be held in conjunction with the USCS PDP Camps in October in Maui and Oahu. An additional tryout will take place on November 2nd & 3rd at the Waipio Soccer Complex. Please click on the link below to obtain the registration form.
