MISO Open

"ROBLEDO" Cup

The MISO Open "ROBLEDO" Cup is a competition among all MISO Open Division teams (Div I & Div II) plus other guest teams from the State of Hawaii. It is named after Cesar Robledo, who played a major role on getting MISO started. He later became MISO's first President.

Thanks to our sponsors,  the 2008 edition will once again feature teams playing for monetary prizes starting with the 2nd round. The monetary value increases with each round thereafter.

This competition, is composed of 5 rounds, similar to the UEFA Champions League. The first Round is played among the 16 lower seeded teams (teams are ranked according to their last season's final standings), which are split into 4 Groups (the Groups are balanced using last seasons final standings). The winners from each group along with the two best 2nd Place teams advance to the next round and are paired up with the top 10 teams. The 2nd & 3rd Rounds are played in a Home and Away format, where the team with the best aggregate score advances to the next Round. The Semifinals and Finals are played as a single game. Most, if not all games, are played in the evenings during the weekdays, at the Ala Wai field. This year's parings are as follows:

PAIRINGS AND SCHEDULE

All 2^nd Round to Quarterfinals games will be played in a Home and Away format. The team with the best aggregate score will advance to the next Round. In the event the aggregate score is tied after the 2^nd game, the teams will proceed directly to a PK shoot-out to determine who advances. The Semifinals and Championship games will be decided by a single game. In the event of a tie at the end or regulation, the Semifinals will proceed directly to a PK shoot-out, while the Championship will proceed to two (2) 10 min over time periods, followed by a PK shoot-out if still tied.
